Course content/learning outcomes

 

By the end of the session delegates will have a greater understanding of:

 

  • How to undertake acute illness assessments using a structured, evidence-based approach

 

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of a range of acute illnesses that may present in primary care such as; headache, back pain, GI, respiratory throat pain, neurological and diabetes 

 

  • Within each of these, look at how they may present, AHP perspective, history-taking, red flags, management, escalation, safety netting, review mechanisms, clerking/governance.
