Course Objectives

  • Develop foundational knowledge of diabetes, including pathophysiology, causes, types, and complications.
  • Build competencies in patient assessment, monitoring, and diabetes-specific care.
  • Learn to educate and empower patients in effective self-management.
  • Understand key clinical guidelines (QOF and NICE) and indicators to support high standards of diabetes care.
  • Recognise signs of related complications, including vascular disease and neuropathic conditions, and understand effective interventions.

  • Know how to Conduct comprehensive assessments, including weight, BMI, and waist circumference ratio
  • Understand the role of diet, physical activity, and obesity management in diabetes care
  • Understand QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) indicators and NICE guidelines for diabetes care
