This practical phlebotomy course gives healthcare professionals in primary care the opportunity to develop safe, effective venepuncture skills using the most up‑to‑date techniques and equipment. The session covers vein anatomy, correct site selection, safe practice principles, needlestick injury prevention and the use of straight and butterfly needles, including manufacturer‑specific features.

Delegates will learn how to recognise and manage complications, understand competency requirements once back in the workplace, and explore the roles and responsibilities of practitioners who take blood.
