This Travel Health Update is designed for registered healthcare professionals who deliver travel health services within primary care. Therefore, the session offers an evidence‑based refresher on global risk assessment, vaccine‑preventable diseases, malaria prevention, non‑vaccine‑preventable risks and essential health promotion. In addition, it focuses on the practicalities required to lead safe and effective travel consultations.
Throughout the training, delegates will review current malaria guidance and yellow fever recommendations. This update is not NaTHNaC‑accredited, yet it provides clear, clinically relevant information for everyday practice. Furthermore, participants will explore complex itineraries and assess travellers with additional needs. Consequently, they will strengthen their ability to deliver accurate, person‑centred travel health advice.
As the session progresses, learners will refine their approach to global risk assessment, vaccine scheduling, malaria chemoprophylaxis and non‑vaccine‑preventable hazards. Moreover, they will enhance their confidence in advising travellers visiting high‑risk destinations, undertaking long‑term travel or managing multi‑country itineraries.

- Vaccine‑preventable diseases: travel vaccines, schedules and indications
- Malaria: up‑to‑date advice, chemoprophylaxis and medication options
- Non‑vaccine‑preventable risks: travellers’ diarrhoea, accidents, environmental hazards and preventive health promotion
- Healthcare abroad & insurance: essential pre‑travel guidance
- Leading travel consultations: practical skills, communication and documentation
- Current malaria and yellow fever guidance (Not NaTHNaC‑required yellow fever update training)
